evilchiliHere's what I love about Tolkien: I have been reading my kids the LOTR, and we are well into ROTK now; Aragorn has just arrived at Gondor to the rescue of Éomer, and Tolkien's overwrought, overwritten, rotund wordplay makes it as grandiose and amazing as it needs to be, and it retroactively justifies all the poetry involved in moving people around for two books. You just need to buy in all the way and be swept up in its utter lack of irony. #DadOps
