Linus Torvalds the Finnish father of Linux named Linux 5.2 as "Golden Lions" due Finland (Leijonat / Lions) winning GOLD in the ice hockey World Championships.

He's known to be quite patriotic even though now living in Portland, USA.

The Lions represented a sensational performance with a roster of many first timers by crushing teams buzzing with top NHL players.
