@yo gold silver was one of the worst games level wise, wild Pokemon etc.. But now that shit is standard. I'd say the weirdness started with GSC then went away for 2 gens. For Pokemon designs though 100%.
GSC is still one of my faves but it was rushed and not well balanced.
