@GoatsLive Most of what has popped up here is "harmless but not very flavorful" every time I look it up. True of the orange chanterelles, apparently, though I guess the neighbors disagree. The black chanterelles are supposedly treasured to go in eggs but I am here to report it apparently takes a lot more of them to add flavor than what I had.

I saw a morel once in my whole life, in an extremely well-trafficked area of a manicured-turfgrass park in Wichita but it was already going to slime. 😔
