i don't really care if @lunduke loves or hates antifa (my own views on antifa are certainly complicated), that's not the point
the point is that he went after riseup, an organization that has provided all sorts of IT services to all sorts of organizations working for positive social change -- indymedia, several GNU/Linux distributions, all sorts of social justice movements (the real kind, not the internet concern trolling kind)
to me, as someone who has been working in the free software space basically the entirety of my life, this is highly unacceptable. and, yes, software freedom *is* absolutely a social justice issue. but even if it weren't, lunduke went after our own, and an organization that helps our own. spinning riseup as an organization that primarily exists to assist antifa is completely disingenuous.

i mean, bluntly, i don't understand how Purism, a company that calls itself a "social purpose company" can have people who attack organizations for, at best, extremely questionable political justifications, that provide essential services to the free software community in executive positions
by doing so, they send the message that they are willing to undermine the foundation their own products are built on

is riseup primarily providing services to leftists? yes, but that's not so clear cut either: a lot of people involved in indymedia were not leftists, but instead centrist libertarians, but they benefited from riseup's infrastructure too.
the point is that riseup provides infrastructure for groups that are trying to organize and do social good. they are basically the US equivalent of framasoft, not "Antifa Hosting LLC"
