        I really wish I loved Inform 7. It's just... it exceeded my complexity budget doing all sorts of baked-in stuff I didn't want while not providing features I wanted, and that broke my caring budget.

        I want Inform 7 to stop *trying so hard to give me weird complex non-changeable things it thinks I need* and just give me some simple building blocks that let me make anything.

        It's a very Apple-inspired design philosophy. 'The user doesn't know what they want'. But when that fails, it fails hard.

          i have no idea if it’s any good, but it was born out of frustration with the complexity of inform7 so maybe it’s up your alley
