    Should we be strict about the use of non-free tools in the free/libre ecosystem? Today was the second time the question popped up in the last couple of months. I don't have much of an analysis for you, just an old-fashioned opinionated editorial :)

      @prokoudine IMO: Be strict about open file formats (make sure there's an open interchange format — even if it's side-by-side with a native format), but not be strict about the tool being FOSS.

      Greatly encourage FOSS tooling whenever possible — but it's better to get contributions than not, even if it means proprietary tooling.

      The closer it comes to a critical workflow, the more FOSS it should be, however.

      Mockups made in Illustrator? Not vital to the software. Presentations? Also not vital.
