i'm not sure why anyone would be applauding Funkwhale for blocking #Gab, considering Funkwhale and Gab can't federate anyway (they use completely different parts of the AS object vocabulary) -

to be clear, i believe my position on Gab is well understood by this point (block early, block often), i just don't see the point in software which cannot ever interact with their service anyway blocking them.
what is the point?
