Maybe pretending there's a grand conspiracy driving it all versus simple human greed makes this reality easier to accept.

@PhoneBoy @mrmcmayhem This is one of the more important pieces of wisdom I picked up over the years. People tend to rationalize it that way as well because the truth that no one is in charge, that it is all just a matter of chaos and that power is mostly illusory is...terrifying.
