tech conventions are trash, but i'll probably be in the area and at the pleroma meetup. i don't think i have any personal interest in elixirconf itself though.

having been to plenty of these things, i know there's nothing of interest there for sure, but if you like talking to attractive girls about products they know nothing about because they were hired from a local modelling agency, definitely check out a tech conference sometime.

i mean, bluntly, i can talk to cute girls at home, about anything i want to talk about, for free. that's kind of the entire point of social networking software, if you think about it.

if we ever have a fediverse con, i want to institute a no booth babes rule, honestly. booth babes are basically the epitome of why tech conventions are festering shitshows of toxic masculinity.

bluntly, when you hire *strippers* to hang out at your booth, and every other Y Combinator funded startup does the same, what do you expect the result to be?

and before you mastodon dot technology people come at me, keep in mind i used to work in goddamn AdTech for a living, so trust me, i've been to dozens of these bullshit conventions, and they are all the bloody same
