    I refer to Mastodon authorized fetch mode as a bandaid, because it's not The Right Thing.

    The Right Thing is to use OCAP. The Right Thing is always OCAP.

    This is a bandaid, one that is *acceptable* in the current situation where OCAP does not exist. But it is a bandaid none the less.
