Why is gcc consuming so much memory these days? I have 4 GB of RAM, yet almost all of it is taken up when I build certain packages from source. Do I need to upgrade my RAM just to be able to build from source? I package for Guix regularly, and building certain packages is a real pain due to all the swap thrashing.
