it's not really about faulting the people who are alive now, but about being aware of the despicable actions of the BIA in the past. we must be aware of these actions so that we can ensure they never happen again in the future.

we live in a time where atrocities are happening left and right. the BIA has always been a crooked institution, they could easily start doing atrocities again.

collectively, these atrocities are *all* of our fault (the BIA sterilizations of the past, the stuff ICE has been doing since it's founding in 2001, all of the wars), because too many of us lack the courage to call the people doing them on their shit.
