At this point, it's probably best to treat Facebook as occasionally-useful malware. Back when I still had an account, I used a separate browser for social networks so that they couldn't track me.

(These days, there's the Firefox container but I never got enough use out of Zuck's monster to make it worthwhile keeping the account.)
