   Periodic reminder that the 700,000 residents of the District of Columbia do not have congressional representation, despite being taxed federally.

   (This is ultimately why the vehicles used by POTUS, being registered in DC, have license plates with "Taxation Without Representation" on them.)

      @rey also the GOP insists we're "children" who don't deserve representation,

         @rey also they act like it's just completely ludicrous to consider statehood / representation for PR, Guam, etc. All about states rights, as long as they get to control what counts as a "state"
