    does OpenBSD not like a RR with TTL set to 0? this is the first time I've run into this, and I had to put the stupid lounge captive portal in /etc/hosts to make it work

    if I dig or nslookup or host, I get the response. if I ping, I get hostname does not exist and the pcaps show four attempts (and responses!) at querying domain.name then it tries domain.name.hostname.local and stops.

    I guess a long read starting with gethostbyname(3) is in order?
