   I wonder if we will ever again see a world where you can build a software project in a modern language and not see several screenfuls of recursive dependencies that you have no idea what they do or who made them, or that they will still exist a few years from now.

      Or a world where you can build a single-file C program without dragging in cmake of all things as a dependency.
