WTF: git shortlog
respects .mailmap
by default, but git log
requires git log --use-mailmap
or changing a config setting. why the fuck?

well, that is annoying. i'll complain to git issue tracker about this, because this is not sane behaviour. -

in the meantime between now and myself submitting a patch to fix this default, you can do
git config --global log.mailmap true
as workaround.
