I find gab moving to mastodon hilarious. The only thing I have against them as a platform is their attempts to skirt around the gpl. A bunch of idiots that started a company then abandoned their main product (the software) for a free alternative. lol.

At least the nazis all have decided to hang out in one place. If they use free software correctly that's a win for free software and a win for "I don't want to see nazis".

@krruzic imo, it's not about not seeing the nazis.
fuck them entirely.
that kind of hate doesn't deserve to congregate peacefully.

@thurloat okay? I don't disagree. Fuck them and fuck with them in their safe space. Better than them coming to my instance and polluting it is my point.

@krruzic perhaps missing the tone. reading through your thread gives off a "nazis are ok as long as they aren't near me" vibe. esp. your followups about blocking gab content in tusky.

@thurloat Nazi boomers are entertaining. I don't think kicking nazis off the Internet is very important in combatting them, and a decentralized internet would give them even more freedom online, not less, how do you invision fighting their social media site? Real world nazis are not ok. I guess it's just priorities. Online nazis are ok as long as I don't *have to* see them. Because that's the entire promise of a decentralized net, anyone can participate and everyone chooses who they participate with.
