Conversation

I was reminded of some words Darwin had written on the topic of slavery. If you read the paragraph following this sentence, you too can read them: “On the 19th of August we finally left the shores of Brazil, I thank God, I shall never again visit a slave-country.” I still have a hard time shaking off these words even though they are but the mildest description of the horror.
