      large, unjustified support of Assange and wikileaks despite it essentially being used as a platform for trolling, in combination with constant denial of his flaws which were very much known to us at indymedia, is one of the main reasons why i gave up on that project.

      it should be noted that Assange is the reason that Chelsea Manning got thrown in prison to begin with, because he isn't a real journalist and he hasn't the slightest clue about how to protect his sources.

         @kaniini @noelle At this point I think Wikileaks is a spent force, but as I recall I don't think they fucked up with any sources, whereas that can't be said for The Intercept (Reality Winner).
         
         afaik Chelsea Manning was originally caught due to being ratted on by a Wired journalist in an IRC chat.

            it is more complicated than that. Assange basically validated that the person in the IRC log was the same person he was talking to.
