    hmmm. do file systems and/or SSD controllers and/or the file system cache layer recognize when you write the same data to the same location?

    eg. if I ran `while true; do cat /proc/cpuinfo > ~/foo; done`, would that wear an SSD out?

      @grainloom I guess you could try by doing a filesystem on a file and looking if it's different or not.
      Needs to disable metadata of course, which is something most flash oriented FS do.
