   While I'm at it, I'm going to make one more thread of posts, and that's about how you can support :mastoart:•ART.

   As many of you know, to accommodate our recent influx of new users I had to purchase a server upgrade to handle the extra weight.

   Our instance is fully hosted and managed by @mastohost, who does such a fantastic job keeping us updated and running smoothly!

   But it also costs money every month, and we rely on the support of our users to keep going.

      @mastohost We're not a giant corporation making money on your info and serving you ads. This is all just me and our mods, working from our homes, maintaining this community you've all helped us to build.

      Up until now, hosting •ART cost us €55/month. The recent server upgrade was an extra €10/m, bringing us up to €65/month. (~$100 CAD in my money.)

      This doesn't include the cost of the domain renewals, or all the manpower from your mods and I to manage and support this community.

         $100 CAD per month is nothing to support a community of thousands of artists, but it is a lot for one person to afford. And that's where we have to ask all of you for help!

            I know many of you *don't* have the means, or just aren't so inclined, and that's perfectly fine! You can support us by replying to folks, commenting on their art, and boosting the heck out of them. That's how we make a fun, inclusive, and supportive community.

            It's hard to think about paying for web services after using other services for free, I know. But we absolutely do not profit from your information, and all we care about is that you are safe and happy. That's worth something! ☺️

               Mastodon•ART will always be free, and open, and will never profit from your information, serve you ads, or mess with your experience. We care about privacy and empowering your ability to own your data and take control of your online lives.

               Not only that, we also love facilitating this wonderful community for you all. :mona_kiss:
