    hhhhhhm

what if putting more direct control in the hands of the commander

    > 1 turn 125
    - Malixis turning to heading 125 in 2 turns
    > wait
    > wait
    - Malixis has completed its turn to heading 125
    > 1 fire railgun
    - Malixis firing its railgun
    > wait
    - Malixis has fired its railgun
    > wait
    - Malixis railgun shot fired 1 turn ago struck enemy cruiser Victory

on the other hand players will almost never hit anything if they have to do this because it is hard to lead a target you can't visually see

perhaps only short range dumbfire weapons and autoengage at short ranges

then all users would have to worry about is range and speed

ok that gives me a few options:

        - a separate firing computer command (or a separate _program_ even, that could be fun and would give users a lot of opportunity to make their own shit) - as jess pointed out this really gives the wwii submarine feel

        - primarily using guided weapons and assuming shit can flip around once launched - really comports well with like, you know, physics and logic

        - just making people do the math themselves

really trying to find a reason not to use the heading/carom system
