    The famous Ship of Theseus thought experiment demonstrates how the concept of identity is mutable.

    It goes something like this: suppose every part of a ship is replaced, one by one, until none of the original parts remain. Is it the same ship? Most people would say so.

    Let's say someone else keeps each part as it is removed, and then uses them to build a ship to exactly the original specification. Is it the same ship?
