@GummyNerds This brings to mind the idea of the "privileging of violence" or the "aggrandizement of violence" and the pain it causes as if it is objectively less bearable than all the other flavors of pain. Fr. MRJ of rusjournal dot org makes this point often. Violence is visceral, grotesque compared to the psycological damage we inflict on each other regularly, but not any more immoral.

I think the secular world and the remnant of Christendom could benefit from entertaining this idea.
