Andrea Garuti - LOOKS IN THE PAST | LensCulture
      from LensCulture
The project looks into the past is projected into the world of Cambodia during the dictatorship of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge 1975-1979, and, taking the 40th year since the liberation of Phnom Phen by the Vietnamese and being a history buff, I went to search people who were in the Khmer labor camps during the dictatorship, I had their stories told with some questions the same for everyone, I was looking through faces and expressions, the horror of the Genocide that devastated culture for 4 years the life of that country, the people photographed wear the same shirts of the time of the dictatorship, in no photo shoot an expression or a way of doing was suggested, the work is a recording of emotions through the faces of the people, I also photographed the places, labor camps where for years, these grown-up people have lived and suffered.
