There is a seam in my fat bike rim. Not sure what it is called officially. My front wheel is holding air fine. The back wheel is not. Is the fact that the air is coming from the seam a sign that the tape job is not correct? #cycling

@musicman It’s been too many years since I’ve even been on a bike.

Are you using American style “clincher” tires and rims with an inner tube? Back in the day, they were usually 35 psi, occasionally 60 to 70 (high pressure), but you could inflate the tube and stick it in a sink or tub to find the spot where it was leaking.

I never rode on sew-up tires, so I don’t have any background that could be helpful.

I'm not sure what you mean by clincher tires. This particular tire is tubeless. It's 6 floors away, and my order doesn't say what the rims are. The tire though is 45NRTH Vanhelga 120tpi 27.5x4.0.

I put two more bottles of sealant in it today and none of it came out, so I think it might be good. Test ride tomorrow morning.

@musicman Clincher tires are held on the rim by a little lip and air pressure. Those are the ones on bikes you would find at Target
