Reminds me of the late 1990s or very early 2000s: I was taking a class at the local college. I had dial-up and an ancient Win95 machine at home, so I tried to do most of my work in the campus computer lab.
Some young students had found a chatroom for Mormon teens that substituted swear words with words like ‘butterflies’, so they all kept trying to find a way to post something that would get past the filter. It was funny, but they’d stay in there for hours at a time, blocking people that needed to do homework from getting computer time.
