All these followers of Christ who think politics and warfare and violence are outside the mission of the church militant are just a distraction, and I'm done wasting my time pretending any of them have anything to teach me.

@SLRock I think I know what you mean but can you elaborate? How do you see violence as part of the mission of the church?

@Combaticus The physical removal of abortion clinics. The physical removal of public blasphemers. The physical removal of radio stations like Botswana's GayFM.
I don't say this lightly. Suicide is a spectrum. Any defeatism that results in us not defending for our brothers in Christ, not defending our bodies/temples, is on the soft side of that spectrum. Personal self-defense is obvious, defense of the Christendom remnant is what's more difficult to strategize.

@Combaticus It seems we're settling for an earthly kingdom instead of dying for a heavenly one.
As opposed to Lazar's choice https://orthodoxwiki.org/Lazar_of_Serbia
TBH, I'm still as hinged as ever, but I've been peering down the barrel of the late 21st century to come and feeling more sure than ever we're looking at a new age of martyrs.
If we're truly in relationship with God thus "tuned in", we can't afford an aversion to violence or righteous anger any more than we can afford an aversion to love & light.

@SLRock Very interesting. So much here ... okay, so Lazar died so to have the Heavenly Kingdom. He was a t way (violence) because of his role as a leader/royalty on behalf of his people and his country. I'm with you there, but am trying to understand how that ties to physically removing abortion clinics, which I would LOVE to see removed, btw. Help me connect the dots. Also, I agree on the coming age of martyrs. Good call.

@Combaticus I'm not planning anything myself. I think a good first step is to work on finding or building a network of churches that do not (and this is really the intended, more reasonably thought out thrust of my op) rule organized violence out of the possible path forward. The recommendations of modern church elders are heavily biased on the cautious, violence-averse side. Maybe to our detriment. It's a discussion churches should be having. If one doesn't fear one's own brothers calling GovCo

@SLRock Certainly, there are going to be more and more hard decisions as the society continues along the path it's on. Unfortunately, most believers won't be able to stand when the heat gets turned up.
