  "GAFAM" are notorious for mass surveillance (more so than telecoms, equally bad if not worse), but many forget that IBM is facilitating rather oppressive surveillance all around the world (it builds proprietary spying systems, whereas GAFAM typically does the spying directly) and nowadays they pitch
