   ICYMI: After no longer offering paper licenses and switching to a mostly automated system the FCC is now proposing a $50 fee for most actions related to amature radio licenses http://www.arrl.org/news/fcc-proposes-to-reinstate-amateur-radio-service-feesSo, not only do you now do their job for them, they want you to pay them to do so. What I think is really happening is that they're looking to push many out of the hobby so that they can reclaim the spectrum to sell to industry similar to what they're doing with 3.5GHz.
