      Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies. There are probably others as well.

         Imo, Mosquitoes play an important role in feeding birds, same for Flies as they feed birds and eat waste.
         But ticks bring no benefit to any species, that's why I think they are classed as parasites. I do not know any species that can eat ticks.

            Mosquitoes also carry diseases. I'm pretty sure malaria kills more people each year than any other infectious disease, and that's just one of the diseases they carry.

               Correct, birds and other animals too, but they aren't parasites, in fact only the female Mosquitoe actually sting.

               Hasn't covid19 surpassed that now ? it hasn't been a year yet so idk.
