   We are delighted to have you as a user of the AOL messaging service. We do everything we can to provide you with an unparalleled experience, and that's why we're contacting you today.
   
   We noticed that you are using third-party applications (such as another email service, calendar, or non-AOL contact management tools) that may use a less secure connection method than ours. To protect you and your data, as of October 20, 2020, AOL will no longer support the current sign-in functionality used by your app. This means that you will need to take one of the following steps to be able to continue using AOL Mail without interruption.

      @mangeurdenuage If they're just requiring OAuth instead of passwords, Thunderbird can handle that. It might require rerunning account setup.

         I just check that and your are a correct.
         To bad that they don't mention it in the email it would have saved me time.

            Just guessing here but they won't make any ad money if you use TB so they will make it as hard as they can.

                  I don’t know whether AOL does this, or whether providers in France do it in general, but “secure sign-in” should reduce the “we blocked sign-in because you’re logging in from an unfamiliar location”. Back when I used Hotmail / Outlook dot com, every time I went to a new hotel, I got that ... and I’d have to go through a long process in order to log in.
