This is the first time that I see a laptop who can't boot a debian based distribution/installation with the GUI and in text mode.
Gentoo boots tho.-

@mangeurdenuage Depending on the age, some computers using UEFI that are older use a 32 bit UEFI even if it has 64 bit CPU and some 64 bit distros don't include a 32 bit UEFI to boot recently. -

It's not UEFI based. I also tried both 32 and 64 bits iso.
But like I said the weird part is that the minimal gentoo cd does show a prompt and you can work, while the other just goes black screen prompt. -

Tried my old ubuntu 8.4 cd, it didn't boot X)

@mangeurdenuage Have you tried USB booting? What about trying Fedora? It seems to boot up on everything I have tried. Beyond that I am at a loss. -

Besides ubuntu 8.4 all where on USB
