   at this point, not convinced the mvn clean install actually installed anything...
   
   but regardless, like which one of these am I actually supposed to use?

      ok, so they say to use bin, so we can remove...some of them.
      
      I guess there are just three options, but man, that startup scripts directory looks like a winner.
