I just learned about tepache, and I had to give it a try. It's a traditional Mexican drink, made from the fermented rind and core of the pineapple, with some added sugar and spices. Naturally fermented and low alcohol. More of a soda than a beer. It's only supposed to take a few days, so I'll be able to tell if it's any good fairly soon. As a bonus, I get to eat a ton of fresh pineapple.
