The fish tank in my son's room was in such a sorry state that I didn't dare take a "before" photo. Yesterday, after relocating the sole survivor (a glowlight tetra that's about 5 years old) I stripped it down completely and rebuilt it from scratch. It's dirted, with plant clippings from the 125. Looks heaps better already. It'll bake in for a few months before putting fish back in to let the plants grow out and let the dirt layer finish farting.
