I'm buying a Dell XP 13 9310 and it's certified to work with pre-installed Ubuntu. My market's Dell and especially my local chain store won't offer the pre-installed Linux option.

I'm not sure what I'm missing if I run a standard Ubuntu, but:

    - www.dell.com/support/home/en-h… seems to offer an ISO for the OEM Ubuntu, if you provide your Service Tag (why??).
    - Someone on the support forum says they bought it with Windows, but their Grub screenshot shows the OEM Linux version, so there is a way.
    - The certification exists in four versions and two of them mention the touch screen, so I guess it's worth buying the touchscreen version. certification.ubuntu.com/hardw…
    - No wait, I thought the price difference for touch was small, but that's because the spec for the touch model has half the SSD and RAM. Never mind then.

It's an expensive one, but I expect to be using it for 8 years like we have with our 2013 MacBook, which is still the strongest computer in the household.
