    1. Entire California School Board Resigns After Accidental Zoom Broadcast
      from Gizmodo
It’s hard to believe that almost a year into the pandemic pushing everything virtual, there are people still struggling to get the hang of Zoom. And yet here we are.

Before video conferences, there were audio conferences. It was always necessary to be aware when your microphone was unmuted.

But I guess this is more of a person who is in control issue. As far as I can tell, only the meeting "host" can decide to make the whole meeting private in such systems. So it is going to be even more important not to say or do things which one doesn't want made public, since it is someone else who can make the error that does so.

I just don't get why people were so angry about it. People do vent sometimes, and usually they don't even mean what they say when they are venting. This, at least to me, is something you'd have a good laugh about then move on. It just doesn't seem like something the whole education board should be removed for doing. Now, choosing zoom as the way school will be held, especially when there are things out there like big blue button, that's something they need to be replaced for doing lol.
In all seriousness though, it is pretty terrible that people are expected to be completely perfect all the time now days. The slightest misstep can cost you your whole career. It seems now days that freedom of speech only applies if what you say is PC, or in agreement with the popular views.

@storm That is true, but consider that people abuse McDonald’s employees, knowing that the employees cannot afford to be fired for responding back in the same manner, and if one does, they try to get the employee fired.

I think Americans are just vile and vindictive.
