        there are some companies that make frames here, and they aren't all that expensive really (in the scheme of bikes, anyway). I have one.

        The problem is all the components.

          @musicman Yeah, one article said that Shimano alone is 80% of the market for certain components. There used to be a competitor named Suntour (I think ST had 30-40% of the market), but I guess they got crushed.
