I'm going to queue this ( #Nitrux ) up for a test.
In other news, I have an old desktop that runs #NixOS, but I think I'm going to replace it with #PCLinuxOS. In three months of being gone, I've forgotten the commands to update Nix, and rather than relearn them (again!), I'm going for something with a graphical updater.
Plus, I don't think they use systemd ... after seeing what happens when DNS is system-deified, I want my systems to not be devoured by this ever-growing software.
@lnxw48a1 My notebook is running PCLinuxOS and I am mostly happy so far other than needing to add a few Flatpak programs that need to be manually updated as there is no auto updater for Flatpak.
One thing to keep in mind with PCLinuxOS, depending on what software you want to run, they don't like using any outside repos, thus the Flatpak programs and while I can access network shares, it seems that manual mounting of drives may be an issue but I have not yet dug deeply but the usual commands do not work for me.
Also, you will be wanting to look at the installed programs for things to remove like Zoom and Spotify which are installed by default among others.
@lnxw48a1 I spun up a VM with Nitrux, while the desktop is technically KDE Plasma, it is not like what I have seen before, closer to a XFCE desktop and I didn't feel like doing a lot of customizing as there was nothing obvious to make it look like KDE with the limited time I spent looking. Other than that and not taking a lot of time it seemed more responsive than Fedora KDE in a VM.
