   @sullybiker I think part of the appeal of #RHEL & #CentOS is stability, but then you find yourself having to add extra repositories because the included software is too old (even though security patches are backported).
   
   If CentOS Stream eliminates the need for those extra (and often sketchy 3rd party) repos, then it is good. Likewise, if #Alma and #Rocky send patches upstream that help improve RHEL, then that is also good.

Now we can actually push bug fixes directly into that same git repository that Red Hat's pulling from.
      
      What has me scratching my head is that I thought that CentOS/Rocky/Etc were to be byte duplicates of RHEL with just a "rebranding", take the RHEL source, change for rebranding/support/etc, and build/test/dist or am I wrong/confused here?

         @geniusmusing @sullybiker That was the old White Box / CentOS way, yes.
         
         As of now, it seems Rocky Linux isn't downstream of RHEL. It seems to be parallel to it, with both feeding off CentOS Stream. I'm not sure what Alma Linux's role is. Maybe they are more like old CentOS.
