   Apparently, people are pretty upset about the new #Mastodon for #iOS app.
   
   It is definitely much more limited than similar apps ... I think it reflect's Eugen's vision of what the mobile Mastodon experience should be like. There are other apps available, even if they all stink.
   
   For what it does, it is probably one of the better apps, but there are plenty of limits, such as:
   * no unlisted posts
   * no local timeline
   * no federated timeline
   * shows the joinmastodon.org signup list, but does not permit browsing the local timelines to help with choosing an instance.
   * bug where autofilled @ mentions end up in the form "@username@username@instance.tld .tld" (including that space before the repeated TLD extension)

      Posts like https://asininetech.com/2021/07/31/irreconcilable-differences/ and https://seedy.xyz/posts/0005-open-letter/ are going up over this app.
      
      Resign? Not likely after he did all the work to form a Gmbh corporation and become its CEO.
      
      Fork? If they're willing to do the work to create and maintain a significantly different fork, they should do so. It would put them in control of their own destiny.
