    I passed one of the local high schools in the afternoon. I had forgotten that classes start in August until I saw the crush of traffic and pedestrians trying to get away from there.

    Maybe because a few families on this street still have their kids' "I finished 8th grade at $SCHOOL" signs in their front yards.
