California Employment Development (EDD) has a debit card deal with Bank of America. BofA sent me a "Getting More Out of Your EDD Debit Card" message today.

Unwanted marketing messages as a consequence of receiving state benefits?

Sounds more like this to me.

Bank of America has a debit card deal with California Employment Development (EDD) for user info.

@geniusmusing Yeah, it is just irritating. If I want to transfer the balance to my own bank account (not BofA), I have to call and go through their twenty questions verification, including some where their accepted answers are wrong. Otherwise, I can do ATM withdrawals up to the nearest $20 … but only 3 withdrawals per month unless I use their ATMs.
