with blob-ridden linux, nonfree video drivers and accelerators in kernel and userland, and drm-infested programs, they will be somewhat better off than a fully proprietary system, but still a long way from achieving freedom, and thus vulnerable to the whims of those who control the proprietary software they depend on, and dependent on those masters to fix problems they might encounter, more so if they choose to take further steps towards freedom :-(
