   I was nominated for an award by someone I supervised earlier this year. In the nomination letter, it mentions "supervisory excellence". I don't know what the award itself entails, nor the next step in the process. Do I get an "attaboy" in my permanent record? Do I get a check? Do I get a parade in my honor down Constitution Avenue in DC?
   
   Not sure, but one of my subordinates here in NYC was also nominated ... and called out specifically by local area management and national IT management.

      It has been my experience that something like this results in a pat on the back and more responsibility for the same pay. YMMV
