Gotta admit, I don’t love that absolutely all online conversations about crypto-currencies, NFTs, DAOs and Web3 are being poisoned by proponents all having a financial stake in them, either from ownership or a derived professional activity.

I haven’t seen this kind of by-design conflict of interest with any other controversial topic, however heated, because they more often boil down to just personal opinions.

Even with VR, another technology with more hype than actual applications, I haven’t seen as many conversations devolve into obligatory bad faith from proponents because most of them have no personal financial stake in the tech getting more popular, they just enjoy it for the sake of it.
