   My room is right across the hall from the guest laundry room. Someone was drying laundry between 00:00 and 01:00, and it sounds like they had some pieces of metal (coins?) in their pockets.

      Probably someone forgot to remove the brass knuckles from their pants...
      Same would apply in Chicago...
